In this unique multimedia class, students will learn mold making to create colorful and dynamic mask forms. The experience will begin at the Kirk Newman Art School as students learn mold making techniques to create detailed plaster face castings. On 1/25 students will learn how to blow glass at Glass Art Kalamazoo’s hot shop and will have the option of an open studio session on 2/1 to trim and refine their work in progress. On 2/8, students will learn how to fuse glass into their molds at the hot shop. Students will return to the KIA sculpture studio on 2/15 and 2/22 to fabricate creative steel armatures and frames to mount and display their glass works. This class is open to all skill levels.
