SELF-PORTRAITURE AND SELF-EXPRESSION

This class will explore sculpture as a means of self-expression and representation. Techniques will focus on ceramic, paper clay, and plaster sculpture and introduce a variety of finishing techniques. While considering form, surface, and mark, students will render self-portraits which go beyond anatomical representation and into the subjective, idiosyncratic, and delightful ways that sculpture helps tell stories about who we really are and how we see ourselves.
