“Painting as Object” is the act of making a painting from the perspective and philosophy of what many artists who execute this type of work call “thingness”. Rather than making a painting that creates illusions, we will be breaking down the structural parts of a painting, elaborating on and embellishing them. Principles will be expanded on for the purpose of well constructed and convincing composition. “Painting as Object” embraces a variety of techniques and materials in the creation of unlimited compositional options and directions.
