MONUMENTAL SCULPTURE TECHNIQUES 

In this two-part class students will be taught how to design and fabricate work on a large scale. Learn how to design and weld a basic steel armature. The form will be built up and carved from foam. In the second semester the detail of the form will be added in papier-mâché. Works will be weather resistant and installation techniques will be demonstrated.

In the summer semester of this two-part course students will create and refine the papier mache form they started in the spring.  Sculpture specific painting techniques will be taught. Works will be weather resistant and installation techniques will be demonstrated.
