As we celebrate the 25th year of firing the KIA anagama wood kiln, this afternoon workshop will give you the opportunity to have a piece included in the fall firing. The workshop will begin with a presentation about the wood fire process and the history of our kiln. Following a demonstration of both a pinch technique and kurinuki, you’ll make your own cup or tea bowl. After the four day wood firing in early October, you’ll be invited to the kiln opening to see your pot unloaded, along with several hundred other pieces. Join the celebration! This is a unique opportunity not to be missed. Materials are included and no experience is necessary.
