Contrapposto follows Cricket, a gifted young artist, and Olympia, the fearless friend who recognizes his talent, across six decades. Their relationship shifts between friendship, love, collaboration, and loyalty as they navigate the challenges of making meaningful work. Cricket is drawn to the act of creating, while Olympia is more comfortable with the business of art. Against this backdrop, Eggars explores artistic integrity, commerce, friendship, and what it means to remain true to a creative life.

All book discussions are free and open to the public.  Participants do not need to have read the book, but it will help facilitate overall discussion.

The Meader Fine Arts Library is a free resource open to the public. Starting in 2027, the library is open Wednesday from 11am-3pm, Thursday from 4-8pm, and Saturday from 11am-3pm.  Members can borrow books and other materials, but all are welcome to use the library.
