Rebecca Rupe is the Archives/Collections Coordinator for the Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians (Gun Lake Tribe). She began her career with the Gun Lake Tribe in the spring of 2021. In addition to assisting in establishing tribal archives and collections, Rupe has also worked with the Tribe in the areas of programming, digital archive website development, community collaboration and outreach, and exhibitions, including the Kalamazoo Nature Center’s Roots of Wisdom exhibition. She has a BS in Travel/Tourism and Anthropology from Western Michigan University, and she is currently completing her Graduate Certificate in Cultural and Environmental Heritage Management and her MA in Public History through her undergraduate institution. 

During this talk, Rupe will discuss her work with the Tribal Historic Preservation Office for the Gun Lake Tribe, with a specific focus on the Archives/Collection program and on how her office is working towards collaborative curation with outside institutions.
