During select ARTbreaks throughout the summer, artists featured in the 2023 West Michigan Area Show will deliver talks on their featured pieces and on their larger bodies of work, their artistic processes, and their points of inspiration. 

This ARTbreak will feature artists Keith Downie and Elizabeth Kellogg, both of whom received prestigious awards during the West Michigan Area Show’s opening ceremony in May. Downie is the 2023 winner of the Helen Sheridan Memorial Grand Prize, while Kellogg was awarded the Kalamazoo Log Cabin Quilters’ Art Quilt Award.

Be sure to drop by the West Michigan Area Show before it closes on August 27 to see Downie’s acrylic painting Winter Dune with Premonition, Kellogg’s quilt Wall Becomes Window, and more than sixty additional works by talented artists across the region.
