The Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo

Since its founding in 1966, the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo (ACGK) has provided invaluable support to local artists, organizations, and businesses across the region, through grants, educational opportunities, wide-reaching arts programming, and much more. A valued partner of the KIA, the Arts Council also sponsors the People’s Choice Award, awarded to one West Michigan Area Show artist annually. 

During this ARTbreak, Kristen Chesak, Executive Director of the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo, presents the People’s Choice Award to the 2023 winner. The award announcement is followed by a presentation by ACGK staff members Eric Oliphant, Operations Manager and Membership Director, and Kim Shaw, Programs Director. Oliphant and Shaw discuss artist resources available through the organization, including grants, fiscal sponsorship, programming, and ACGK member benefits.
