ARTbreak: KNAS Residents, part 4

This event is no longer on sale.

Tuesday May 9

12:00 PM  –  1:00 PM

The Kirk Newman Art School Post-Baccalaureate Program is in its seventh year, and more than 50 artists have completed the program. The nine-month residency is designed for aspiring artists who want to grow and strengthen their art practice in a supportive community, with access to professional studio facilities and guidance. During this ARTbreak, KIA guests will hear from KNAS residents Lauren Gaunt and Mickey Williamson about their experiences and artistic pursuits.

A graduate of Kalamazoo College, Lauren Gaunt is a painter exploring the intersections between illness and medical folklore. Her work is inspired by both historical research and her own experience living with epilepsy. Mickey Williamson is a graduate of Western Michigan University. He works primarily with clay, experimenting with forms and textures in his sculptures.
